Albert Phuay Yong Hen is the founder of
our Group. He is our Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer.
He oversees the general management of our business. He is responsible
for our Groups strategic direction and planning, and business
development.
Prior to forming Excelpoint Systems (Pte) Ltd.
(ESPL) in 1987, Mr Phuay had held various management
positions in several electronics companies. Between 1977 to 1979,
he served at an exporter and manufacturer of electronic equipment,
Conic Electronics Pte Ltd as its Quality Control Engineer. In 1979,
he left the company to serve in a camera manufacturer, Rollei Pte
Ltd as its Quality Assurance Engineer before joining Central Systems
Pte Ltd in 1984 as its General Manager. Mr Phuay holds a Technical
Certificate in Electronics from the Institute of Technical Education
in Singapore. He has also received a Long Service
Award certificate in recognition of his voluntary contributions
to the Ministry of Community Development and Sports since 1985,
as a Probation Officer.
Alan Kwan Wai Loen is the Managing Director
of the Lights Electronics Pte Ltd. (LES). He was appointed
a director of LES in 1993. He is responsible for the general management
of the LES Group. Prior to joining the Group, he was an Industrial
Engineer in an equipment manufacturer, Olivetti Singapore Pte Ltd
from 1982 to 1987. In 1987, he joined Conics Technology Pte Ltd
as its Procurement Engineer and left in 1990 to serve in an electronics
manufacturer, Elbiru Electronics Pte Ltd, as a Senior Buyer. In
1992, Mr Kwan became a Director of PEC Electronics Pte Ltd and held
the title until 1993 when he came on board LES
to be the Sales and Marketing Manager.
Mr Kwan holds a Diploma in Production Engineering
from the Singapore Polytechnic, a Diploma in Marketing Management
from the Ngee Ann Polytechnic and a Diploma from the Chartered Institute
of Marketing in the United Kingdom.
David Kok Fat Keung is the Chief Operating
Officer of the Excelpoint System (H.K.) Limited (ESHK)
Group. He was appointed a director of ESHK in 1995. He is responsible
for the general management and business development of the ESHK
Group. In 1985, Mr Kok joined a distributor of electronic components,
Tektron Electronics HK Ltd as its Marketing Assistant. He was subsequently
promoted to Sales Executive where he was responsible for sales coordination
and delivery scheduling. In 1988, he joined another distributor
of electronic components, Toyo Kuni Electronics Co Ltd as a Sales
Engineer, where he was
mainly responsible for business development and the sales of semiconductor
components. In 1989, he joined Ling Hei Co Ltd as a Sales Supervisor,
where he headed a sales team responsible for evaluating and sourcing
for new product lines, and handled the overseas trading of audio
components.
In 1990, Mr Kok left Ling Hei Co Ltd to join our
Group as a Sales Manager in charge of sales in Hong Kong. He was
promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the ESHK Group in 1999. Mr
Kok holds an Ordinary Certificate in Electronics Engineering from
the Morrison Hill Technical Institute of Hong Kong.
Sunny Wong Fook Choy is an Independent Director.
He was appointed a director in November 2003. He is a practising
advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. He started
his legal career in 1982. He is currently a director of Wong
Tan & Molly Lim LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from
the National University of Singapore.
Professor Low Teck Seng was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director on 19 April 2006. He is the Chairman of the Nominating Committee and a member of the Audit Committee. Professor Low is the Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Republic Polytechnic. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with First Class Honours and a Doctor in Philosophy in Engineering from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom in 1978 and 1982 respectively. He is a Chartered Engineer, UK, and a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (International). He currently chairs Singapore’s A*STAR’s (Agency for Science, Technology and Research) TSRP (Thematic Strategic Research Programmes) and its program on Nanoelectronics. He is currently a Board Member of the Health Sciences Authority, the National Community Leadership Institute and a Technical Panel member for the National Environmental Agency. Professor Low also holds directorships in the following public listed companies in Singapore: Magnecomp International Ltd, Electrotech Investments Ltd and Select Catering Services Ltd.
Kwah Thiam Hock was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director on
18 April 2007. He is the Chairman of the Audit Committee and also a member of the
Remuneration Committee.
He started as an Assistant General Manager with ECICS Holdings Limited (“EHL”) in 1976
and rose to become its Chief Executive Officer from 1994 to May 2003. From June 2003, he
also served as an Executive Director of IFS Capital Ltd (“IFS”) and ECICS Limited
(“ECICS”). He retired as Executive Director of IFS and ECICS in December 2006 but
remains as Non-Executive Director of both companies.
Mr. Kwah is currently an independent director of Wilmar International Limited and Select
Catering Services Limited. He is also a member of Singapore Turf Club Management
Committee and a member of the Audit Committee of Singapore Totalisator Board.
Mr. Kwah holds a Bachelor in Accountancy from the National University of Singapore. He
is a Fellow CPA of Australian Society of Accountants and also a Fellow Member of both the
Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore and ACCA (UK).
